Lawn bowls is one of the oldest ball games and provides an inclusive environment for players of all ages and abilities to play socially or competitively. ‘ Today, lawn bowls is considered to be one of the most socially inclusive sports across all levels.’ (Sue Barrett Sept 2011). According to Bowls Victoria “ bowls takes five minutes to learn and a lifetime to master ”.
Social bowls is played at Point Lonsdale at all levels and is played mixed teams on Thursdays .
We provide coaching to beginners as well as to seasoned players with ages ranging from 13 to 93. Come and see what makes us different at Point Lonsdale Bowls Club. All bowls are provided all is required is YOU.
To represent your club in a field of sport is often considered to be recognition of high achievement of one’s skill. We have seven (7) competing Pennant Divisional Teams who represent Point Lonsdale Bowls Club each week. We have four (4) Divisional Teams in Saturday Pennant Competition and three (3) Divisional Teams in the Midweek Pennant Competition (Tuesday). Our teams are very proud to represent the Region and our aim we will be to strive for further success in all the Divisions that PLBC is represented.
PLBC has an Indoor Bowls Section which plays Wednesday in the Summer season.
Indoor Bowls is held every Wednesday and Saturday in the Winter season and creates a lot of interest with over 20 bowlers and onlookers attending n a regular basis. A wonderful afternoon tea is shared and a great spirit exists among those attending.. So why not come along!
