Membership to PLBC is open to all ages. We encourage any person wishing to see our facilities first hand or anyone who is interested in either/both social and competive bowling, to make an enquiry to visit and discuss your interest.
Social Membership is also available to those who simply want to be socially involved with our Club. Becoming a Social Member entitles you to all the privileges available in the utilisation of our bar, function, social and/or dining facilities.
Junior Members are also encouraged to join and learn the skills that will enable them to bowl socially and in competition. Opportunities are available for you to become a skilled bowler and play within one of our Pennant teams.
Lawn bowls is one of the oldest ball games and provides an inclusive environment for players of all ages and abilities to play socially or competitively. ‘Today, lawn bowls is considered to be one of the most socially inclusive sports across all levels.’ (Sue Barrett Sept 2011). According to Bowls Victoria “ bowls takes five minutes to learn and a lifetime to master ”.
Social bowls is played at Point Lonsdale at all levels and is played in mixed teams on Thursdays. We provide coaching to beginners as well as to seasoned players with ages ranging from 13 to 93. Come and see what makes us different at Point Lonsdale Bowls Club.
To represent your club in a field of sport is often considered to be recognition of high achievement of one’s skill. We have seven (7) competing Pennant Divisional Teams who represent Point Lonsdale Bowls Club each week. We have four (4) Divisional Teams in Saturday Pennant Competition and three (3) Divisional Teams in the Midweek Pennant Competition (Tuesday). Our teams are very proud to represent the Region and our aim is to be to strive for success in all the Divisions that PLBC is represented.
